Diabetic Scholarships: helping diabetic children
It is the emotional reaction to diabetes, than the disease, that causes more damage to diabetics. Kids having diabetes isolate themselves, suffer from a lack of self-confidence, and feel unable to face the world. Fortunately, diabetic scholarships help diabetic kids and adults come out of their shells by providing them assistance for studies and other activities.
Diabetic scholarships are also offered to research foundations for research in the field of diabetes. Scholarships are also given to individuals with diabetes to chase their dreams. The American Diabetic Association provides scholarships of $5000 each to young tennis players suffering from diabetes.
Diabetes organizations provide diabetic scholarships specifically for children affected with the malady. These organizations do their part in supporting activities related to diabetes education in children. They fund scholarships for such activities and organize diabetes summer camps and education conferences for the diabetes-affected children and their families. These organizations also work with schools and school districts to ensure that diabetic children get the support and care to which they are legally entitled. They also work with other organizations within the USA and also outside its borders to provide diabetes education to diabetic children. The organizations also fund scholarships for higher education for children in the United States suffering from Type 1 diabetes. Diabetes camps are the greatest experience a diabetic child can have. In such camps diabetic children learn self-confidence. That’s the single most important ingredient they need to have if they are to face the world outside of the shadows of their parents in the future. In diabetic camps, they can be with other children with diabetes and simply have a great time. Parents can also take a much-needed break from the anxiety and worries that caring for their diabetes-affected children bring. Almost all organizations that hold the camps provide diabetic scholarships to children unable to pay the full camp fees.
The Diabetes Hope Foundation has awarded 115 diabetic scholarships since 1999 to children having Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes for their education. You can also contribute to the Diabetes Hope Foundation scholarship by sending your donations to the Diabetes Hope Foundation Scholarship Program. If you contribute $3,000, it can be directed to a named diabetic scholarship bearing your family or corporate name. The diabetic scholarship will help a student entering a post-secondary educational facility.
The Diabetes Hope Foundation also has a list of fundraising options you can choose from. You can sponsor a special occasion such as the birthday party of a diabetic child or a Christmas present. There are also In Memory donations where you can sponsor a gift for a family in memory of their loved one who passed away, third-party events where you can organize any leisure activity for the diabetics, and corporate donations paid annually which can be used for any one purpose or for multiple programs.
Your contributions could help bring cheer to many diabetics. And if you or any of your loved ones are suffering from diabetes, diabetic organizations are there to offer you diabetic scholarships. Who says diabetes isolates people? Diabetic scholarships provide diabetics with independence, health, and well-being.
